What do you do when challenged to make a musical instrument out of Dyson technology? This was an internal competition project, a collaboration between Dyson engineers, composer David Roche, and the Orion Orchestra.

Designed “Cyclophone" 3-octave 48-note pipe organ made from recycled Dyson fan and vacuum parts, mounted on a geodesic dome.

David Roche created an original piece called Acoustical Anatomy, integrating the engineered instruments with traditional orchestral instruments. Hearing the piece played live in The Cadogan Hall was a real treat.

The Instrument won awards for Best Design and Best Sound.
